The new man - 2 Corinthians 5:17
2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
One of the most common tools of the enemy is to pervert our identities through condemnation and fixating our minds on our past self. But the beauty of salvation is the newness of life, the transformation and rebirth we receive through Christ!
Of course it can be challenging to accept that every sin is washed away but we must allow God to be Lord over our lives, allow Him to cleanse you. You may have those thoughts : "Surely i have sinned so much that God could never forgive me" or "Others still see me by who i used to be so how can God forget such".
I am here to remind you of the gospel, this is Good News! The verse that comes to mind now is in Isaiah 43:28-19, specifically where it says "behold i will do a new thing [..], i will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert". The light and fire of God is purifying, there is nothing that is too big for God. To even understand His nature is to know that he delights in mercy, He is rich in mercy! So today I pray that you will start to live i the identity that God wants you to be, view yourself in His lenses.
Thank you Jesus for washing me clean and making me a new creation in you. Allow me to not fixate on my past mistakes but to continue to walk in your light and path. Amen!
